When the world came to a standstill during Malaysia's Movement Control Order (MCO), three brothers saw an opportunity where others saw obstacles.

With restaurants closed and people craving comfort food, the brothers realized that durians could bring joy and connection during these challenging times. What started as a small family venture to help local farmers sell their harvests quickly became something much bigger.

They began with just a few durians from their family farm in Raub. But they quickly realized that people needed more than just durians - they needed hope, connection, and a taste of normalcy.

In January 2024, Durian Bros opened its flagship store at CommonsKL, marking a new chapter in their journey. The modern, spacious location allowed them to showcase their premium durian varieties and provide an immersive durian experience.

CommonsKL was the perfect location - a hub for food lovers, tourists, and locals who appreciate quality. They wanted to create a destination where people could not just buy durians, but learn about the culture and traditions surrounding this beloved fruit.

The new location features climate-controlled storage, educational displays about different durian varieties, and a comfortable tasting area where customers can experience durians at their peak freshness.

In 2025, Durian Bros partnered with the Malaysian Chinese Youth Association (马来西亚宗乡青联合总会) to organize a durian cultural exchange event in Raub, Pahang. The event successfully attracted over 50 young participants and became a landmark initiative in promoting durian culture among Malaysian youth.

They believe that durian culture is an integral part of Malaysian heritage. By organizing these cultural exchange events, they're not just selling durians - they're preserving and sharing traditions with the next generation.

The event featured durian tasting sessions, educational workshops about different varieties, and cultural performances. It was covered by major media outlets, including East Coast China Press, highlighting the brothers' commitment to community engagement and cultural preservation.
